May/June 2025: 'Outer Sunset 1977-1978' by Richard Sexton

Outer Sunset 1977-1978: This historic work was Sexton's first serious color photography project while studying at the San Francisco Art Institute in the late 1970s. Shot on Kodachrome and Ektachrome color transparency film with a Leica M4 camera, Sexton captures one of San Francisco's most beloved Western neighborhoods at a very unique moment in time.

Richard Sexton is a fine art and media photographer whose work has been published and exhibited worldwide.

Sexton’s photographs are included in the holdings of The Historic New Orleans Collection, New Orleans Museum of Art, the Ogden Museum of Southern Art, LSU Museum of Art, Louisiana State Museum, Polk Museum of Art Frost Art Museum and more. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia and is based in New Orleans, Louisiana.

In collaboration with Pamplemousse Magazine, an independent publication committed to highlighting the work of up-and-coming and established photographers through photo features, essays, and interviews.
