Dear Reader,
Friday is Black Bird's 7th anniversary. I want to take this moment to say thank you for every minute of the last seven years that you have made Black Bird part of your life. Buying a book, attending a reading or workshop, choosing us as your daily coffee spot, sharing a poem you wrote at our open mic, shopping here to support local artists and makers, spending hours with your child at our train table, or inviting a friend here to share some of Loquat's beloved olive oil spelt cake in our garden. 
We are here because of you. And I am deeply humbled by the extraordinary support and enthusiasm you have shown this little bookstore (and me) in our mission to be a community place. 

We have invited a few friends to help us celebrate this Friday night: CinemaSF + Balboa Theater, Tunnel Records, PickUp Pizza and a new friend...HydeFM Radio. It is going to be fun with a capital F.

Ben from Tunnel Records will be sharing some of his vinyl favorites all night long starting at 6pm. Don't forget to check out Tunnel's new shop on Clement inside the 4 Star Theater. 
CinemaSF
// drinks + film all evening
Adam from CinemaSF (Balboa Theater, 4 Star Theater, etc) is bringing a curated selection of local Original Pattern beer and SF's Subject to Change wine. 16 mm films will be screened all night on our cafe wall. 
HydeFM Radio

Music set from HydeFM, a community-based multi-genre online radio station broadcasting out of San Francisco.
Poetry + Prose Open Mic is TONIGHT

Bring your written words to share. We warmly welcome everyone: first-timers, published writers, weekend poets, all ages, etc. 5 minutes on the mic are all yours. Sign ups start 6:45pm.
